Yellow Line Service Suspended After Water Infiltration Incident
Montréal's STM has suspended service along the entire Yellow Metro line following the discovery of significant water infiltration in the tunnel infrastructure. The sudden closure, affecting stations from Berri-UQAM to Longueuil–Université-de-Sherbrooke, has disrupted thousands of daily commuters.
According to recent reports from La Presse and Radio-Canada, maintenance crews identified the water leakage during routine inspections, prompting immediate safety precautions. STM spokesperson Amélie Régis stated: 'Passenger safety is our top priority. Engineers are working around the clock to assess the damage and implement necessary repairs.'
